How to Reach

  PUBLIC TRANSPORT: 

*Regular overnight buses ply between New Delhi (475km)/Chandigarh (215Km) and Joginder Nagar/Bir. You must get down at Ghatasani and catch a local bus/cab to Jhatingiri (05 km). We can also arrange a pick-up from Jhatingiri/Ghatasani/Jogindernagar/Mandi/Bir/Kangra (airport).

- SELF-DRIVEN/CAB: Drive directly to Jhatingiri. Coming from Mandi/Chandigarh/Delhi side, take a right turn at Ghatasani (38 Km from Mandi) OR coming from Pathankot/Palampur/Joginder Nagar side, take a left at Ghatasani (12 Km from Jogindernagar).

-AIR: The nearest airport is Gaggal near Dharamshala in Kangra Valley (85 km away). Another airport and at a similar distance is located at Bhuntar in Kullu Valley. However, due to limitations of the terrain in Kullu, flights landing and taking off from Bhuntar are prone to frequently changing wind conditions and take only a partial load, thereby adding to unpredictability as well as cost factors.

*We are located at 7,250 feet altitude. We get plenty of snow during winters and rains are heavy during monsoons. However, a bit of drizzle is part of life here.

*FREE PARKING on site at the Retreat location

*The last mile to our retreat is an unmetalled road. For sometime every year, that stretch becomes unfit for vehicular traffic. We are expecting the metalling soon and even as on date, such spells are not very frequent or too long. 

* - TRANSHIPMENT: If you are not comfortable driving the last 1.5 km of unmetalled road, we will receive you at Jhatingiri and guide you to a parking lot (free parking). We shall then take you up to our Retreat in an SUV or on foot as per the weather conditions. Travel/porter expenses from Jhatingiri onwards shall be on us. We shall drop you back at Jhatingiri at the end of the stay without any extra charges. 

TRAVEL TIME BY OWN CAR

*To/Fro New Delhi: 8-9 hours

*To/Fro Chandigarh: 5-5.5 hrs

*Pathankot: 4-4.5 hrs

*Jammu: 6.5-7 hrs.

*Palampur: 2 hrs.

*Kasol: 3-3.5 hrs.

*Manali: 4.5-5 hrs 

*Teerthan Valley: 3-3.5 hrs

*Shimla: 5.5-6 hrs.

*Jalandhar/Ludhiana: 4-4.5 hrs

(All timings approximate; with the ongoing road widening work going on, these timings are likely to decrease/decrease. We shall make an effort to keep this data current.
